As part of this, we've made climate change a focus. We face a climate emergency and so we’ve committed to reducing all our absolute carbon emissions - across Scope 1, 2 and 3 - to net zero by 2030 at the latest – 20 years ahead of the targets set in the Paris Agreement.
We've made a public commitment to transparency on this issue by signing up to the UN SME Climate Commitment joining a growing number of organisations around the world that share the same mission. We will report our carbon footprint annually on this website and you can view our results for recent years in the downloads section below.
But we’re not stopping there. We’re also offsetting all our carbon emissions on an ongoing basis through the use of high-quality carbon credits, which we do through Ecologi. Of course, we understand that offsetting alone won’t solve climate change, so this won’t slow down our ambition to get to absolute net zero as quickly as we can, but we feel it is important to mitigate our climate impact as we #RacetoZero.
We're investing in learning and development for our team, and we're focused on working with our suppliers and customers to ensure human rights and the environment are protected throughout our value chain. Ultimately, we've updated our articles of association (the rules we run the business by) to achieve 'mission lock' - making sure we have a positive material impact on society and the environment as well as our shareholders.
More and more organisations in agriculture are making sustainability part of their core activity and value evidence of this in the businesses that they partner with. Every year, we complete the EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment to track and evidence our progress in the areas of environment, ethics, sustainable procurement, and labour and human rights. We are very proud to have retained our Silver rating in 2024 and improved our score, placing us in the top 11% of all businesses ranked across industries.
